War haben zwar schon letzte Woche etwas für die Hilsbedürftigen in Haiti gespendet – aber das Elend wird natürlich nicht weniger. Auch wenn Haiti auf dem Korruptionsindex ganz oben steht habe ich die leise Hoffnung, dass sogar korrupte Systeme irgendwann nicht mehr funktionieren können, wenn die Zerstörung nur groß genug ist. Ein Grund mehr auf dieses Projekt aufmerksam zu machen, über das ich bei Christoph gestolpert bin: Download to donate von der Organisation MusicForRelief. Es handelt sich um einen Sampler mit unveröffentlichten Songs von bekannten Bands bzw. Künstlern:
Linkin Park, Dave Matthews Band, Peter Gabriel, Alanis Morissette, Slash, The All-American Rejects, Hoobastank, Kenna, Enrique Iglesias and Lupe Fiasco team up with Music For Relief to aid earthquake victims.
In partnership with the United Nations Foundation, Habitat for Humanity and Dave Matthews Band’s BAMA Works Haitian relief effort, Music for Relief is working to provide immediate aid with food, water, and emergency medical supplies, and long-term sustainable housing solutions for the people affected by this catastrophic natural disaster.
100% of funds received will support those affected by the tragic earthquake in Haiti.
Funds will be divided equally among the rapid response efforts of the United Nations Foundation, the long-term,
sustainable rebuilding of homes with Habitat for Humanity, and Dave Matthews Band’s BAMA Works Haitian relief efforts.
